Resort Description:

Jackson Hole was named by the fur trappers and mountain men who inhabited this area in the early 1800's. A "hole"
was the name for a high valley amid mountain ranges, and the valley here was originally named Jackson's territory,
hence it was originally named Jackson's Hole. The town is called Jackson, while Jackson Hole is the name of the
entire valley beginning at the south entrance of Yellowstone and running 60 miles south through Grand Teton
National Park.

Looking up at the dramatic Teton Range from the airport, it's not immediately obvious which parts of that range make
up the Resort. As your eyes start to focus, you can pick out the zigzag traverses across Rendezvous Bowl. Known as
"The Big One", Jackson Hole Mountain Resort lives up to the legend at first sight. Jackson town is located approx. 12
miles from the ski area and Teton Village. Skier shuttle busses run in between during the day for $2.00 each way,
some hotels have their own free shuttle.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is made up of two mountains:

Apres Vous Mountain: With over 2100 vertical feet of groomers and glades is know as the intermediate mountain.
Wide open groomer allow for fast laps on the high speed Quad. The slightly more adventurous might find
themselves in gladed areas. Halfpipe and park riders will find their preferred terrain secluded between Werner and
Hanna. The base of Apres Vous Mountain flattens into gentle beginner slopes.

Rendevous Mountain: is where you will find the terrain that Jackson Hole is famous for: chutes, bowls, couloirs and
glades make up most of the terrain, although there are advanced intermediate groomers and cruisers as well. The
tram travels 4139 vertical feet above the valley floor to 10450 feet (3185m) above sea level. From the top of the
Jackson Hole Tram, you can enjoy some of the best consistent fall line skiing and riding in the world.
