Breckenridge extend season to 27 April 2014

Breckenridge season extension

Breckenridge Ski Resort has announced that they will extend the resort’s ski season by one additional week.

The week will be from Monday 21 April through Sunday 27 April and is due to excellent snow depths and great conditions that are expected to continue into the spring.

In January, Breckenridge was the snowiest resort in the States and had received more than 28ft (8.5m) of snow already this season.

Third season in a row extended

During the past two years Breckenridge has extended their regular season with extra weekends, but this year resort officials have decided to include extra weekdays as well.

Breck will open three of the resort’s signature peaks for the extension week, Peaks 6, 7 and 8.  Rip’s Ride, 5 Chair, Colorado SuperChair, T-bar, Imperial SuperChair, Independence SuperChair, Zendo Chair, and Kensho SuperChair have all been selected to open.

In previous years’ extensions, only terrain on Peak 8 was open. This year’s package gives guests a final chance to ride Breck’s newest terrain, Peak 6, during the final days of its first season.

Passes & Tickets

Skiing during this extended week will be free for 2013-14 Vail Resorts season pass holders, whose passes will still be valid during the extended week. In addition, Breck will offer a specially-priced, US$66 lift ticket for purchase at the ticket windows.  You can find out more about buying Breckenridge lift tickets here.
