November 08, 2013
Another exciting year begins Friday, Nov. 15 as Breckenridge opens for the 2013-2014 season. As we ended our 51st year with Spring Fever, an extended season and huge powder days, we'll begin with Peak 8 opening with what locals call their "favorite day of the year."
TERRAIN:
Peak 8 will be the first peak to open at Breck for the 2012/13 ski season, with approximately 40 acres of skiable terrain and two chairlifts. The Colorado SuperChair and Rip’s Ride chairs will start turning for the public at 9:00 a.m.; open trails will beinclude Springmeier and Trygve’s.
Opening Day:
Guests will be able to enjoy FREE parking in the gondola lots tomorrow, and can enjoy Breck’s new signature breakfast item, free to the first 2,000 guests, starting at 8:00 a.m. on the Ski Hill Grill patio. KSMT will be broadcasting live from the base of Peak 8, and there will be opportunities to win prizes throughout the day from on-site promotions from Red Bull and Veuve Clicquot. The GoldRunner Coaster will open at 11 a.m. and will be FREE for guests to ride when they present a lift ticket or season pass. The party continues all day long, with TBar drink specials and live entertainment until last chair of the day at 4 p.m. Lifts will open at 9:00 a.m., and Ullr will ride the first chair of the season along with winners of the "Find Ullr" contest.
Breckenridge Ski Resort requires all skiers and riders to observe all posted signs and warnings. Closed trails may contain hazards due to limited natural snow coverage and snow making operations. Please keep off closed trails and out of closed areas for safety reasons.
