EMERALD LAKE LODGE

Following extensive renovations in 1986, Emerald Lake Lodge re-opened as an exclusive year-round vacation and business destination. The historic Lodge remains the heart of the resort, which is located in Yoho National Park, just 25 miles west of Lake Louise and 2.5 hours from Clagary Airport.

Built of hand-hewn timber and featuring massive stone fireplaces, the Lodge includes a formal dining room, quiet reading and sitting rooms, conference facilities and a games room. The lounge is enhanced by an oak bar salvaged from an 1890's Yukon saloon. From upper or lower large verandahs, the visions nature presents are as fresh and breath-taking as ever. As in the past, Emerald Lake proudly welcomes those in search of the extraordinary. Dotting the 13-acre peninsula are 24 cabin-style buildings (accommodating up to 200 guests), each designed to reflect the traditional architecture of the Lodge. Rooms have private baths, balconies and wood burning fieldstone fireplaces, which are stocked daily with complimentary firewood. Room amenities include feather duvets and pillows, telephones, in-room coffee makers, hair dryers, and alarm clocks.

The historical lodge offers a true escape from the hectic pace of modern life. There are no televisions and no internet access in any of the rooms, and no mobile phone reception in the entire area of Yoho National Park. There is a television, as well as internet access, in the Games Room in the main lodge. Emerald Lake Lodge has achieved a three key rating in the Hotel Association of Canada's Green Key Eco-Rating Program. This recognizes that the hotel has made significant advances towards protecting the environment and has strong environmental programs which identify impact and the implementation of best management practices, training programs, and engineering solutions, have benefited the environment and the local community.

Emerald Lake Lodge offers several dining options-in the summer, enjoy Cilantro on the Lake, and year-round, enjoy the authentic Rocky Mountain Cuisine in the Mountain Burgess Dining Room. For a more casual option all day, relax in the Kicking Horse Lounge.
