 1.       Aspen, Colorado

As one of the world’s best known ski resorts, it’s no surprise that Aspen offers some excellent options for cat skiing. Coda Travel can arrange for you to have an unforgettable day on the mountain. 

Luxury snowcats will take you to untracked powder in the Aspen Mountain backcountry to guarantee you fresh tracks, no queues and no other people.   

Each group (max size 12) has two guides and one driver and the day out includes lunch served in a heated mountain cabin, plus refreshments are available throughout the day.  Avalanche safety equipment is also included.

2.       Park City, Utah

Park City Powder Cats and Heli-Skiing offer access to Thousand Peaks Ranch - a private resort with over  40000 acres of powder only 25 miles from Park City.

This ranch is a home to hundreds of sheep in the summer, but in winter becomes a dreamworld for keen skiers and snowboarders in winter.

With exclusive rights to the area, fully qualified guides and state of the art snow cats, Park City PowderCats offer both cat skiing and heli-skiing and the chance of a lifetime to ski in a completely exclusive mountain region.  You should be an advanced skier or rider.

3.       Revelstoke, British Columbia

This gold rush town was founded in the late 19th century and with a massive regular snowfall of 12-18m (40-60ft) each winter is a perfect location for cat skiing in British Columbia.

The vertical drop of 1713m (5620ft) is the largest in North America and when the resort purchased local company Selkirk Tangiers Helicopter Skiing and CAT Powder Skiing, some huge descents were opened up for powder hounds.

Early season discounts are available, but in season descents cost CAD448 per person and include lift ticket access, qualified ski guides, rental equipment and a gourmet mountain lunch.

4.       Alta, Utah

Everyone knows the snow in Utah is legendary and cat skiing in Alta, Utah is a great way to test it out. 

We take you to Little Cottonwood Canyon, where your day will start with breakfast.  Then it’s up the mountain in a customised snow cat, complete with heating to keep you warm.

Then it’s on to the Grizzly Gulch Bowl, starting our runs from 10500 feet, with a vertical drop of 1500ft on offer.  The available area covers 375 acres – so there’s plenty of room for everyone to put down their own fresh tracks! 

With two guides and a maximum group size of 11, snow cat skiing in Alta is recommended for all advanced and expert skiers with previous backcountry experience.

5.       Fernie, British Columbia

If you prefer to take your cat skiing experience north of the border, then the historic ski town of Fernie, in the heart of British Columbia is the one for you.

Powder Cat Skiing have three Bombardier snow cats and can give you access to a massive variety of terrain, from steep and deep to wide bowls.
