Deciding whether to book a North American skiing holiday this winter or next? Here are some tips on when and where to book for both the USA and Canada.

When deciding on a skiing holiday to North America, this usually means a special trip or a longer trip, compared to somewhere closer to home, where even weekend skiing is possible. Here are some tips to consider when thinking about booking a skiing holiday to the USA or Canada:

New Quicksilver Gondola opens to connect Park City and Canyons ski resorts

Last Friday saw the new Quicksilver Gondola officially open and connect the Utah ski resorts of Park City and Canyons.

The lift means the two now form the largest ski resort in the States with over 300 trails, 41 lifts and 7300 acres of skiable terrain. 

 

The Epic Pass now includes skiing at Perisher, Australia

 

The recent purchase of Perisher ski resort in Australia by Vail Resorts means that it’s now possible to buy one lift pass that includes unlimited skiing in more than a dozen resorts, including Vail, Breckenridge and Park City.

Vail Resorts – owners of both Park City and the Canyons in Utah – have announced details of their plans to connect the two resorts, and so form the largest single ski area in the United States.

Park City joins the Epic Pass Line Up

Following on from Vail Resorts recent purchase of Park City Mountain in Utah, the Epic Pass from Vail Resorts now includes Park City as well.

That makes 22 different resorts covered by the pass now, giving access to some of the best skiing and riding in the world.

US Snowboarding Grand Prix

January 20, 2010 - January 23, 2010

The historic pipe where US athletes swept the men's podium and won gold in the women's event during the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002 will entertain the masses with Olympians again. The Grand Prix tour makes its final stop at Park City Mountain Resort for back to back night competitions, after which the winners will be crowned and the 2010 Olympic halfpipe team will be named.
