Vail Global Energy Forum

March 03, 2012 - March 04, 2012

The Inaugural Vail Global Energy Forum will take place March 3-4, 2012 at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, CO. Presented by the Vail Valley Foundation, Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy and Precourt Energy Efficiency Center, speakers and participants will examine the challenges facing the world’s energy supply, security and impacts.

The first-ever Vail Global Energy Forum allows discussions and suggests possible solutions to a very real—and urgent—issue of our time: how can we produce enough clean, cost-efficient energy from reliable sources to power our global economy while we bridge the transition to renewable energy solutions of the future?

As an attendee, you’ll:
• Discover 10 ways that you can decrease the energy consumption in your home and office and lower your monthly bills
• Gain tools to become an activist and implement energy saving solutions in your neighborhood and city
• Become a game changer: contribute to how our society will move from fossil fuels to more renewable energy sources in the future.

Confirmed participants include:
George P. Shultz, former U.S. Secretary of State, Secretary of the Treasury and Secretary of Labor and now Distinguished Fellow of Stanford's Hoover Institution
• U.S. Senator Mark Udall of Colorado, Member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources
Jeffrey Ball, Former Environment Editor of The Wall Street Journal
Tom Petrie, Vice Chairman of Bank of America
Dr. Ernest Moniz, Director of the Energy Initiative at MIT
