New flight options to Canada from the UK with Air Transat

There is good news for British skiers and snowboarders heading to North America next winter.

Air Transat has recently confirmed that they will be adding a second flight each week during the winter season from London Gatwick to Vancouver.

Direct flights to Vancouver this winter

The second flight will commence in December and will allow visitors to fly to the host city of the 2010 Winter Olympics. The city has Cypress Mountain on its doorstep and is just two hours away from the world famous ski resort of Whistler Blackcomb.

Earlier this year, the airline confirmed they were adding flights from Glasgow airport to Montreal – to add to their existing flights to Toronto and Vancouver from Scotland.

Flights to Toronto and Ontario

Air Transat also took the opportunity to announce new flights to Toronto and Ontario – the capital of Canada – allowing some of the smaller ski resorts in the east of Canada such as Mt Tremblant and Mont St Anne.

And if you want to explore Canada further, you could also take the option of flying to Toronto with Air Transat and then on a connecting flight on to Calgary.  This means you could access some great ski resorts, all within close range, including Kicking Horse, Banff, Lake Louise, Marmot Basin, Kimberley Alpine Resort and the famous Fernie ski resort.

Flights from £339pp

Return flight prices to Toronto with Air Transat start from £339 per person, with flights to Vancouver over on the west coast coming in at £361 return. The flight extension on to Calgary is only slightly more at £367 return.

Even better Air Transat offers free ski carriage in addition to the standard baggage allowance up to maximum of 20kg – so that’s another extra saving over flying to Europe.
